Preparation / Parts you need
In order to do this, you need some parts.
1. obviously your Walksnail Goggles X
2. the new Heatsink (black)
3. some thermal paste (provided with the heatsink from CADDX)
4. two thermal stickers (also provided by CADDX)
5. a small Phillips Screw Driver to open up the Goggles
Opening the goggles / removing the old heatsink
The first thing you need to do is to remove the facial foam,
behind that you will find two screws at the top which lock the top cover in place.
After you removed these, you can pry open the top cover.
When removing the top cover, beware of the fragile wifi antenna cable which is glued onto the top cover, don't remove it, there is no need, just let the cover hang from the cable like you see on the picture.
Next you need to remove the four screws that hold down the old heatsink (silver). I highlighted them in red on the picture.
Next you can just pull the cover up it shouldn't be very hard to do since it's only hold down by the old thermal paste.
Clean PCB / remove old thermal paste
Now we need to remove all (most) of the old thermal paste,
just take a towel and wipe it off, it doesn't need to be like super clean... Se picture for reference.
Put on some new thermal paste and stickers
After you removed the old thermal paste, you can install the new one.
Put a little bit on all necessary chips and also put the two thermal stickers onto the two small square shaped chips (check the image for reference)
install the new heatsink
You're almost done, just put the new heatsink where the old one was.
Make sure it has good contact with the chips/thermal past by pressing it down firmly.
Then screw it down using the four screws you removed from the old heatsink.
Put the cover back on, install the two cover screws and you're done.
